Erik is a transactional lawyer based in Atlantic Canada with a broad practice that includes mergers and acquisitions, farm and land transactions, commercial real estate, and small-business share and asset sales. He regularly leads transactions for entrepreneurs, family businesses, and growing companies while providing steady, strategic guidance from deal structuring through to closing.
Erik also supports clients with succession planning, corporate governance, and business strategy, helping owners prepare their organizations for transition, growth, or sale. His practical, solutions-focused approach ensures clients understand their options and make informed decisions at every stage.
In addition to his commercial work, Erik advises clients on environmental and climate-related risks and opportunities that affect transactions, development, land use, and long-term operations. He works with boards and leadership teams on governance, environmental obligations, and sustainable business strategies; aligning regulatory expectations with the realities of doing business in a changing economy.
Erik is active in the legal community. He serves on the Canadian Bar Association’s Environmental, Energy & Resource Law Section and is the founder and chair of the Law Society of New Brunswick’s Climate Change Task Force, where he leads professional engagement on the role of lawyers in a warming world.
